Wynnefred Rose May - my first girl!

Here's my darling Wynnefred who arrived home on December 22, 2005. Some of my friends said I shouldn't be allowed to have a girl BJD if I was going to name her Fred, but, oh well, Fred she IS! She is exactly what I expected her to be. As soon as I saw her face, I smiled. I think SD13 Mimi has that effect on some people. I know she's not glamorous, but I wouldn't know what to do with a glamour girl if I had one. Fred fits in with my little family perfectly. She was actually the first BJD I ever wanted.

Wynnefred is American. Her mother was Japanese and her father was in the United States Air Force. Her parents had met in Japan while her father was stationed there. They married and moved to America, where Wynnefred was born. However, she never knew her parents. Both of them died in a tragic automobile accident, and the infant Wynnefred was the sole survivor of that crash. Her only living relatives were her Japanese grandparents, and so off to Nagoya, Japan she went to be raised by them. They loved her dearly. She was a mischievous but sweet child. She tried her best to be a good girl, but sometimes things just seemed to go wrong, and whenever she would try to fix her mistakes, they would end up worse than if she had just left them alone.

Her ojiisan grew old and frail. It took all of her obaasan's time and energy to take care of him. Again, Wynnefred tried her best to help around the house, but her grandmother was at her wits' end. Grandmother contacted a personal friend of hers, whose daughter ran a shelter for teens. Wynnefred was only supposed to be there temporarily until her grandmother could engage a nurse to help at home. Wynnefred still visited her grandparents several times a week, but eventually the shelter became her home. The coordinator of the shelter, Izumi-san, and two of her employees, Kaoru and Kiyako Akiyoshi, became very dear friends of Wynnefred's, and would often talk to her about previous clients at the shelter.

This is how Wynnefred first heard about a particular boy named Kazuhiro Tanaka. He was different from other teens at the shelter, because he had gone over to America. She had never thought of doing this herself. For the first time in her life, she felt a desire to return to the land of her birth. So, a visit has been arranged, and Wynnefred has arrived! She was immediately rechristened "Fred" by Hiro upon her arrival.
